SNOWMOBILE EXPERIENCES

After being kitted out with Arctic-proof clothing and an introduction to snowmobile driving, we'll depart - by snowmobile - for a full day of adventure. Once in the middle of the forest the reindeers await you. Here we'll exchange our snowmobile for a sleigh ride. The reindeer bring us to a lake in the woods where you can try your luck ice-fishing, while the guide prepares a traditional Lappish lunch over an open fire.

After lunch, arriving back at the snowmobiles we'll follow one of the well-maintained trails to meet up with our husky herder. Here you can test the speed of a sleigh pulled by 4-6 huskies. After a full and fascinating day we'll arrive back in the centre of Levi.

Snowmobiles are a way of life here in Finland. We have hundreds of kilometres of carefully managed trails to explore. An extensive network of snowmobile trails covers the entire region including lake and river crossings, forests and fells.

The day provides a variety of exciting challenges, from negotiating the more technical forest trails to speeding full throttle across frozen lakes.

Imagine venturing into an untamed wilderness on a snowmobile, racing across snow covered lakes and rivers, speeding over the wide open expanses of Fell Lapland and steering your path on the technical trails through snow covered forests.

We arrive at the husky farm by snowmobile. Here you will be introduced to the dogs, find out about the farm and learn how to handle the sled before leaving to explore the trail.

Everyone gets their own team of 4 to 6 huskies who will pull you through snowy forests and over the expansive winter landscapes.

After following one of the well-managed trails by snowmobile, we'll arrive at the reindeer farm. There is always plenty going on at the farm and we'll learn how these animals live.

Here you'll be introduced to the herder's life, try out your lasso techniques and find out how to handle the reindeer sled before leaving to explore the trail. Experience the quiet exhilaration of this traditional form of transport as you guide the sleigh through the white forests.

These amazing solar winds - also known as the Northern Lights - meet the atmosphere in a zone around the magnetic North Pole. They form arches, waves and curls of light, which move across the sky, with sudden rays of light shooting down from space.
